Dear friends of the College,
Welcome to the first issue of The Bateleur. 2020 has started at a rapid pace and is already shaping up to be an exciting year for the Southern African Wildlife College.
You will see that we have incorporated elements of our updated and refreshed corporate identity in the newsletter masthead. Over the next few weeks these new elements will be pulled through all our branding. We really are looking forward to our updated corporate “look and feel.”
With this issue, we’re also piloting a new approach to sharing our news; shorter newsletters, sent more frequently.
Instead of our usual quarterly missive, you can expect monthly updates from our campus, featuring news from our various departments. Please email any feedback you have on our newsletters. We put them together to serve you, our loyal community, and we’d value your opinion on how to improve them.
This issue features a warm welcome to our new students, some exciting academic developments, the successful launch of the African Intergenerational Leadership Hub, updates on various training initiatives and news from our beautiful campus.
Please do get in touch if you’d like to support us in 2020. Every donation, big or small, helps to ensure that we can continue carrying out our training mandate and help support our students.
The big news this month is that Carte Blanche will be featuring our K9 Unit and four-tiered approach to counter poaching. Please tune in at 7pm on M-Net on 1 March 2020 to see the College and our dogs in action
Thanks for reading. We look forward to staying in touch.
