Dear Friends and Partners,
It is my pleasure to share with you the Southern African Wildlife College’s 2025 Annual Review, reflecting a year of progress, adaptation and continued commitment to strengthening quality, needs-driven conservation training.
As the first full year of implementing our Strategy 2030, 2025 provided an important opportunity to build on the College’s strong foundations while sharpening our focus on measurable impact, institutional sustainability and the evolving needs of the conservation sector. Through applied education and training, conservation practice, research, innovation and collaboration, we continued to develop the people, skills and practical solutions needed to respond to increasingly complex environmental and socio-economic challenges.
None of this work happens in isolation. The achievements reflected in this Annual Review are made possible through the commitment of our staff and students, and through the invaluable support of our donors, partners, conservation agencies, communities and wider network of stakeholders. To each of you, I extend my sincere thanks.
As we progress through 2026, our focus remains firmly on the future. We will continue to strengthen the quality and reach of our training and skills development programmes, deepen our understanding and measurement of impact, embrace innovation and new opportunities, and build collaborative partnerships that enable meaningful conservation outcomes.
There is much still to be done, as is illustrated by our thematic approach to current conservation challenges, but also much to build upon. We look forward to continuing this journey with you as we work towards a future where nature-positive livelihoods are strengthened, and Africa’s natural resources and biodiversity are conserved and protected in ways that are inclusive, viable, inclusive and economically sustainable.
Thank you for being part of the SAWC story and for your continued belief in our work. Enjoy the read!
Yours sincerely,
TheresaÂ
