Nature Conservation Bridging course 2017

My name is Mbheki Victor Mthembu, I’m from Sithembile in Glencoe which is situated Northern Kwa Zulu Natal. In year 2017 from February to July I was part of 24 students’ class of SAWC Nature Conservation Bridging Course Programme.

Currently I’m working as the Field Ranger/ Environmental Monitor in one of the biggest private game reserve in Zululand District. SAWC gave me a stepping stone to access and claim one of the positions in the nature conservation society. The level of discipline, better understanding of conservation ethics and all set of skills obtained from the course enabled me to be versatile and  become an “encyclopaedic Field Ranger” in the current war against poaching and the non-revisable extinction. The fact that I was able to establish a reliable communication network of my own through SAWC ,which includes friends and mentors who are passionate with conservation. Not only did the college do that for me, they also made me feel the need of growing in something I’m passionate of “Nature Conservation” which was the most notable life changing moment.
