Khanyiso is the Reserve Manager of Tsolwana and Commando Drift Nature Reserves in the Eastern Cape. He joined the Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency (ECPTA) in 2013 as a Wildlife Management Intern after leaving SANParks’ Camdeboo National Park where he was completing his Work Integrated Learning block as part of a qualifying course at the Southern African Wildlife College.
He has been a Field Ranger, Senior Field Ranger, Section Ranger, and has worked in wildlife management prior to attaining his current position as a Conservation Manager. He grew up in Mount Frere in the Eastern Cape and matriculated at Tolweni Senior Secondary School in 2006. Khanyiso moved to Cape Town for a few years to work in private garden service and went on to study at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) where he earned his national diploma in Nature Conservation.
In 2014 while he was working for ECPTA, he simultaneously completed a certificate in Guiding and Sustainable Utilisation at the Southern African Wildlife College.
He has a wide range of experience in the field of conservation and notes Key Performance Areas as game management activities, stakeholder engagement, development and implementation of strategic plans, and law enforcement. Khanyiso is a passionate safari and hunting guide hunter as well as a keen birder. He enjoys spending his free time hiking in nature or playing soccer.
