Karl Ferreira is the Chief ICT Manager at the Southern African Wildlife College, where he leads the organisation’s ICT strategy, digital transformation, data systems and technology governance.
With a background spanning economics, business management, financial markets, software development and data analytics, Karl brings a broad systems-thinking approach to technology leadership. His focus is on using technology to solve real organisational problems, improve decision-making, streamline processes and build resilient, sustainable digital systems.
Since joining the College, Karl has progressed through technical and systems-development roles into ICT leadership. His work includes software and systems development, data architecture, automation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, Microsoft 365, business intelligence, ICT governance and strategic planning.
A builder and continuous learner by nature, Karl has a strong interest in artificial intelligence, data engineering, automation and emerging technologies. He is particularly motivated by turning complex problems into practical solutions and applying technology in ways that strengthen people, organisations and conservation outcomes.
