Benneth Mathebula

Eco Village Operations and Staff Manager, Nourish NPO, South Africa

Biography

I am Benneth Mathebula and I was born over three decades ago at Tintswalo Village in Acornhoek near Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga province. I completed my secondary school education at Shobiyani High School, and then went on to pursue my tertiary education studies. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Ehlanzeni TVET College.

Despite having worked as a motor mechanic for a number of years, I have also gained a lot of experience when I joined the environmental conservation industry some years ago. I worked for a number of conservation companies like Widland and Kruger 2 Canyon where I developed more interest in this field. In the abovementioned companies I was tasked with various responsibilities that gave me huge exposure to this industry. Currently, I am working as General Assistant at Nourish Eco Village in Segagule near Acornhoek.

The job at Nourish Eco Village exposed me to many aspects of community leadership, wildlife conservation, environmental protection and recycling of used materials. I also go to field trips with primary school children and elderly people in the community to teach them about the importance of wildlife conservation. I am an experienced organiser, initiator and community liaison specialist with vast experience in the conservative field.

My experience ranges from working at a mechanic sector, non-government organizations and advocacy organizations. I am a hard worker who is punctual and committed to my work. I am able to multi-task and am always willing to learn and initiate new things.
