Biography

Alexandra, known as Alex, joined the College in 2018, bringing over 15 years of finance management experience, particularly in the NGO sector, including USAID-funded projects. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organisational Psychology and Honours in Marketing and Arts Management from Rhodes University.

After her studies, Alex managed the finances of a land restoration project in Namibia before returning to South Africa in 2010. She initially joined the Southern African Wildlife College as a senior finance manager. Shortly after joining the College a new position became available, and her passion for marketing and fundraising led her to her current role, where she focuses on helping to drive the College’s fundraising initiatives, particularly in securing bursaries for conservation students. Alex continues to support the College’s financial management and is deeply committed to its holistic approach, with a particular passion for the work being done with dogs and counter-poaching. Her favourite days are when she can visit the College’s K9 Unit.
