Dear Friends of the College,
As we reflect on the year under review, we would like to thank you, our valued community, for being part of our journey and for the commitment and support extended to the College. This has given us the chance to continue ensuring conservation impact through collaboration and capacity development, whilst making a difference to the lives of our staff and every one of the 1991 people trained by the College in 2024.Â
Partnerships and collaboration have undoubtedly been the foundation of this success, and we are sincerely thankful for this. Our collective efforts become especially meaningful when we see not only the lives that have been transformed but also the landscapes that have been impacted by the training provided.Â
A number of our students continue to benefit from the generosity of the donor community by way of bursary funding, which makes their studies possible. Together, we also met compliance requirements, which has allowed us to pause and reflect to see how we can better build on this whilst continuing to ensure transformation and empowerment.
2024 was certainly a year of growth, learning, and collaboration with our staff and our partners. Your engagement, feedback, and trust have inspired us to aim higher, think bigger, and deliver better, resulting in the finalisation of our Strategy 2030 to be fully implemented in 2025.
Aimed at assisting the College in meeting its long-term goal of ensuring our students contribute to effective, sustainable resource management through relevant and needs-based quality education, training and skills development, supported by research and technology, we are excited by what lies ahead. Our strategy also brings a fresh start to our training approach and enables us to make further strides towards our sustainability whilst fostering inclusive opportunities that empower both individuals and communities.
This approach links the co-existence of humans and nature with the goal of ensuring ‘nature-positive’ livelihoods. In ensuring quality needs-driven education, training and skills development, we can help contribute to a better, more equitable future for all, whilst prioritising sustainable environmental, social, and financial practices.Â
We look forward to continuing our journey together, creating innovative solutions and achieving even greater success by remaining committed to driving impactful change.
With best wishes,

Theresa Sowry
