The Southern African Wildlife College in collaboration with African Leadership University – School of Wildlife Conservation (ALU-SOWC) and Stellenbosch University – African Wildlife Economy Institute (AWEI) has a fully-funded opportunity for 25 candidates involved in implementing Wildlife Based Economy and livelihoods related projects/programmes within the Southern African Development Community (SADC)’s Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) to participate in a 5-day TFCA Peer-to-Peer Learning Exchange Programme within the South African component of the Great Limpopo TFCA aimed at fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration, and best practices in wildlife-based economies and livelihoods.
The European Union and the German Government through the Joint Action NaturAfrica/Climate Resilience and Natural Resource Mananagement (C-NRM) project, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) supports this initiative, which is part of the broader Initiative to enhance Peer-to-Peer learning between TFCAs. The Southern African Wildlife College invites qualified stakeholders who meet the following requirements to express their interest in participation:
1. Operational base: Individuals directly working in or with SADC TFCAs and are based in the SADC region.
2. Current engagement on Wildlife-based Economy and Livelihood activities: Individuals managing active/ongoing project(s) focused on Wildlife-based Economy within SADC TFCAs.
3. Alignment to individual TFCA plans or strategies: Explanation on how the work is aligned to TFCA agreed development plans, strategies or work plans.
4. Motivation: Demonstrating a clear motivation to undertake the learning experience highlighting the expected benefits to project implementation in TFCAs.
5. Travel documents: In possession of a valid passport to travel to South Africa which is valid for at least six months from the programme start date
