“Completing my qualification at the Southern African Wildlife College will help me improve anti-poaching techniques back home in Nyika National Park where I work.”
Michael has been working on the front line in anti-poaching since he acquired a training certificate in 2011. He has worked to mitigate human-wildlife conflict for the last eight years as an employee of Malawi’s Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), based at Nyika National Park.
Since completing his schooling in 2008, Michael developed a career defending wildlife and maintaining the integrity of Malawi’s protected areas through counter poaching. His goal is to use the practical and theoretical tools gained at the SAWC to lead by example and to teach his community about the value of wildlife.
