Bradley Dean Koopman

National Certificate in Natural Resource Management: Terrestrial

A dedicated Section Ranger with experience in both marine and terrestrial conservation and a consistent track record of progression throughout his career.

“The skills and knowledge I take away from my course at the Southern African Wildlife College, I will effectively pass on to my peers and colleagues back at home, promoting professionalism and high standards in the conservation workplace.”

Bradley has shown quick progression from junior to senior positions in his career thus far. Straight after matriculating from high school, he entered the industry as an Environmental Monitor at Storms River Mouth Nature Reserve, which incorporated duties and training in law enforcement, fire management, research assistance, administrative tasks, and reserve maintenance.

Over the past 10 years, he has been promoted to Field Ranger, Ranger Corporal, Assistant Section Ranger, and finally Section Ranger, which is a title he has held for six years at Bontebok National Park. His track record speaks for itself, and now he plans to use his opportunity at the College to train and teach his colleagues about effective natural resource management.

Bradley is a born leader and has dedicated his career to protecting nature and implementing best practice at every level of his career.

Bradley requires support towards the R75 000 needed for his bursary. This is an amount that he does not have access to personally, which is why the SAWC as a non-profit organisation is calling upon a network of donors and supporters to help raise these funds. By donating any amount, large or small, you are playing a crucial role in helping Bradley receive the best possible training for his career in conservation.
