Purpose

Assessment of guide or hunter’s level of ability to handle a large calibre rifle under realisitic African dangerous game hunting or protection scenarios.

Target Group

Guides or Dangerous Game PHs, APNR Reserve Representatives, Researchers needing to obtain or renew ARH certification under FGASA or SANParks schemes.

Entry level requirements

The learner will be required to have:

Competency certificate (manually operated rifle).

Valid licence to own a firearm.

Own licensed firearm.

Ammunition for range practice

Exit Level Outcomes

The participant will be assessed against industry standards. Successful candidates will have proven to have acceptable levels of rifle dexterity, accuracy and safety under stress.

The SAWC offers organisations and or private businesses the opportunity to enrol their staff for training in any of our short courses. Training can take place on campus, via online format, or on-site at a location preferred and provided by the client. Courses can be tailored according to the specific needs of the organisation.
