Dear friends and supporters of the Southern African Wildlife College,

It is with great pride that I share this, our 2020 Annual Review with you. While the year under review was by far the most challenging year in my tenure as CEO of the Southern African Wildlife College, I am humbled and honoured that in the face of such extreme global adversity we have achieved so much. I extend my deepest thanks to everyone who makes the College’s work possible. That includes our stakeholders, our partners, and all our funders as well as our motivated team of staff, who together make it possible to effectively train the next generation of thought leaders and conservationists.

The review draws on all our departments’ work, as well as on our student’s learning experiences and successes. It allows us to reflect on the past year whilst being faced with current challenges, especially those presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to work towards ensuring our sustainability and delivery of our needs-based conservation education and training programmes, we realize just how great our achievements have been. The year 2020 has been extremely important in our educational curriculum development where online learning has become an essential part of life. We have had to adapt to this practice and are proud to offer several new courses to our students online.

The College has a clear mission, and every member of our dedicated team works to deliver on this mission. Today, we celebrate our successes by sharing our annual review with you; highlighting and illustrating our commitment as one of the region’s leading applied learning conservation education and training institutions, to high-impact, holistic learning.

We are hopeful for the future and thank you for being with us on our journey.

Yours sincerely.
