Hiking For Rhinos

Jo Devenish on one of her adventurous expeditions

Jo Devenish, an avid lover of wildlife and wild places, who is also passionate about hiking and exploring, is off on an exciting but also a rather daunting expedition. She will be hiking the Scenic Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from the Mexican to the Canadian border, a distance of approximately 2600miles (4260kms). She will be heading off on 27 April and is planning to finish by the time 1 October 2017 comes around. An epic adventure indeed!

Through her expedition she hopes to help raise awareness on the plight of the rhino that continue to be killed for their horns. In doing so she is also aiming to raise funds to assist with anti- poaching training and in caring for orphaned rhinos to allow these animals to continue to survive despite all the odds.

All monies raised and donated will go directly to two specified beneficiaries; the Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) and the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC).

Read more about Joe’s initiative and how you can follow her expedition whilst also helping raise funds to assist in saving our rhino so that they may be conserved for future generations.
