OUR PARTNERS

WWF South Africa
Conceptualised by WWF South Africa in 1993, and built on land that had been donated to WWF South Africa by Mr Hans Hoheisen, the College complex was completed as a result of cooperation between WWF South Africa, the international donor community, local companies and individual supporters.

The College, which was endorsed by the Southern African Development Community (SADC), opened its doors in 1997. It was managed by WWF until 2004, when the task was taken over by Peace Parks Foundation.

Peace Parks Foundation
The peace parks of southern Africa present a powerful vision of a shared ecological heritage and a mutually sustainable future. Peace Parks Foundation facilitates the establishment of transfrontier conservation areas (TFCA’s or peace parks) and develops human resources thereby supporting sustainable economic development, the conservation of biodiversity and regional peace and stability. Since its inception, the Foundation has supported the work of the College. Peace Parks Foundation has also stepped forward to help cover any operational shortfalls at the College (2004 - 2012) and now assists with bursary funding for the flagship certificate course students and other selected programmes.

Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW)
A grant made by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation (BMZ)
via the German Development Bank (KfW) and WWF South Africa made
the construction of the College possible. KfW has, over the years, continued its support of the College.

Southern African Wildlife College Trust (SAWCT)
SAWCT, a capital trust fund, was established by WWF to provide funding for education and training in nature conservation management . Deserving certificate course students at the SAWC qualify for funding in the form of scholarships. The primary objective of SAWCT is to continue to raise funds so as to help support the work of the College in perpetuity.
